Who I Am

A Small Team That Treats Your Business Like Its Own

Pro City Web Design is run by Start Your Business LLC. For more than 15 years I have built websites for small businesses, and today my team designs more than 100 websites every month. I do the design, the writing and the photos myself, and I explain everything in plain English.

Real People, Not a Call Center

When you call or text, you reach the people building your website. No hand-offs and no runaround.

I Do the Hard Parts

The design, the writing, the photos and the Google setup are all handled for you, so you can keep running your business.

Plain English, Always

No jargon and no pressure. I explain every step, answer every question and tell you honestly what fits your business.

Brand New or Years In, Getting Customers Can Feel Hard. Let's Change That.

Whether you're opening your doors for the first time or have been at it for years, most owners we talk to are in one of these spots. Every one of them is fixable. Tap the one that sounds most like you.

Whichever one you picked, you're in good company. Nobody ever explained how customers really find businesses online. So let's walk through it together, in plain English.

Here's something most people never hear

Having a Website Isn't the Same as Being Found

Many business owners are surprised to learn this: when a new website goes live, Google doesn't know it exists yet. Until Google understands what your site is about, it can't show it to anyone. It's like opening a lovely shop on a road with no sign. The shop is great, but nobody knows to stop in.

If you don't have a website yet, you can avoid this problem from the very start. If you already have one, this may be the reason your phone isn't ringing, and the good news is that it can be fixed.

Think about the last time you needed a business

Why does being found matter so much? Because you probably typed what you needed into Google, glanced at the first few results and called one of them. Most people never make it to page 2. Your future customers do the same thing, so showing up near the top really matters.

So how does Google decide who gets those top spots? Picture a friendly but careful judge. Before it recommends a business, it asks four questions:

  1. Does it clearly say who you are and what you do? Does the website tell your story and explain your services, whether you opened last month or have been at it for 20 years?
  2. Does it explain things clearly? Is there a page for each service someone might search for?
  3. Is it listed in the right places? Is the business found on other trusted websites and directories? We set these up for you, new business or not.
  4. Is it easy and safe to use? Is it secure, easy to read on a phone and simple to contact?

Many websites can't say "yes" to these questions, and that's usually why they never bring in customers. The good news: every website we build is made to say "yes" to all four, whether it's your very first website or a fresh start for an old one. But why do so many websites fail the test in the first place? It often comes down to how they're built.

Why so many websites fail the test

Why Websites Fail Google's Four Questions

Most websites don't fail because the owner did anything wrong. They fail because the website was built to look nice, and nobody set it up to pass the test. Here's how that usually plays out.

  1. 1
"Who are you and what do you do?"

The page says things like "Quality service you can trust," but never says what you actually do or where. Or it's only a business name and a phone number.

For example: "Smith & Sons, Quality Service" leaves everyone guessing. "Smith & Sons: Roof Repair in Chicago" says it in one second.

What it means: If a customer or Google can't tell what you do in a few seconds, they move on to someone who makes it clear.

  2. 2
    "Does it explain things clearly?"

Everything you offer is squeezed onto one page. That page ends up being about everything in general, so it isn't the best match for any one thing a customer searches.

For example: Someone searches "water heater repair." A plumber with a page only about water heater repair beats a plumber who lists 12 services in one paragraph.

What it means: Google hands customers the page that matches their search best. No page for a service means no chance to win that search.

  3. 3
"Is it listed in the right places?"

The business only exists on its own website. It isn't on Google Maps, Yelp, the BBB or other trusted websites. (Those listings are called local citations.)

For example: It's like applying for a job with no references. Nobody else is saying you're the real deal.

What it means: When trusted websites list your business the same way, Google trusts you more. With none, Google has little reason to pick you.

  4. 4
"Is it easy and safe to use?"

The website is slow, the words are tiny on a phone, the buttons are hard to tap, or it's missing the little padlock (called SSL) that tells visitors it's safe.

For example: A customer on their phone waits, pinches and zooms, gives up and calls the next business on the list.

What it means: When visitors leave in seconds, you lose the customer, and Google tends to favor websites that are fast, safe and easy to use.

What the Price Leaves Out Matters More Than the Price

A small website can be a smart place to start, whether you're brand new or have been around for years. Our 5-page websites start at just $99 as a one-time flat fee. What matters more than the price is what happens after the website is built.

A website that gets built and then left sitting there is like that lovely shop with no sign out front. It may look great, but Google never learned it exists. That's why every website we build is set up to be found, using the words your customers type into Google, and why we're upfront about what's included and what's optional. It's also why many of our clients have been with us for over 5 years.

The Pro City way

  • A low one-time flat fee ($99 or $199), then a flat $59 a month. You know exactly what you get
  • Review your whole website before it goes live
  • Hosting, security and updates are covered by the Care Plan. No contract, cancel anytime
  • Professional writing and photos, a free logo and 2 new social media pages with every website
  • Built with the words your customers type into Google
  • A website that brings you calls, not just compliments
What your price should really buy

A Website That Works as Hard as You Do

Whether you start with our $99 website or build something bigger, a low price should never mean a website that just sits there. Every website we build does three jobs at once, so it isn't invisible, it isn't just for show, and it's worth every dollar. That's true for your very first website and for a fresh start on an old one.

Puts a Sign Out Front

First, people have to find you. We use the exact words your customers type into Google, so your website shows up at the moment they're ready to hire someone.

Makes a Great First Impression

Once they click, they decide in a few seconds whether you look trustworthy. A clean, modern design tells them right away that you're the professional they were hoping to find.

Turns Visitors Into Customers

Tap-to-call buttons, easy contact forms and clear next steps make it simple for a visitor to pick up the phone and become a customer.

Businesses Like Yours, Found on Google

So how did they get found?

Why Do Some Websites Show Up on Google While Others Never Do?

It's simpler than you'd think. Picture Google as the world's biggest library, and every page of your website as a book with your business name on the cover. This works the same whether you're building your first website or improving one you already have.

  1. 1
    A customer asks the librarian.

They type what they need into Google, like "tree trimming near me."

  2. 2
    Google checks every shelf.

It looks for the one page that best matches those words.

  3. 3
It hands over the best match.

If your website has a page about tree trimming, that book is yours. If it doesn't, Google sends the customer to someone else.

Try it yourself: tap a search

Quick question before we talk size

Pages? Here's What That Means.

Every website is split into pages, and you decide how many. Watch the phone below to see how it works.

Pages are the tabs in your menu

Home, About, Services, Contact. Each tab opens its own page about one topic, so visitors find their answer in seconds.

Google picks one page, not your whole site

When someone searches for a service, Google hands over the single page that fits best. A page about lawn mowing can show up when people search for lawn mowing.

So how many do you need?

  • 5You're just getting online, or you offer a few main services. This fits most local businesses.
  • 10You have lots of services, or you serve several towns.
Start at $99. Grow when you are ready.

Which Size Website Do You Need?

Yes, our $99 website is real, and for many businesses it's all they need. But remember the bookshelf: every page is another book Google can hand to a customer. Here's an honest look at what each size can do for you, before we talk about price.

  1. Most popular 5 pages

Get Found for Your Main Services

Google has 5 books about you.

Your Home page, About page and Contact page, plus a page for each of your main services, so Google can match you to the jobs people are searching for. It's a clean, professional start if you don't have a website yet, and a great fresh start if your current one isn't working.

Example: a landscaper could show up for
Green Acres Landscapinglandscaper near melawn mowing servicesod installationmulch delivery

    A great fit if you:

    • Are just getting online, or offer 3 or 4 main services
    • Want new customers to find you on Google, not just a link to share
    • Have a website that isn't working and want a fresh start
    • Want a free logo and 2 new social media pages too
  2. 10 pages

Get Found for Everything You Do

Google has 10 books about you.

Every service and every area you serve gets its own page. More pages mean more searches you can show up for, and more chances for the phone to ring every day.

Example: a landscaper could show up for
Green Acres Landscapinglandscaper near melawn mowing servicesod installationmulch deliverytree trimminglandscape lightingpaver patiolandscaper in [your town]landscaper in [next town]

    A great fit if you:

    • Offer 5 or more services
    • Serve several towns or cities
    • Want the strongest start on Google, new site or old
Now for the best part

Double the Pages for Just $100 More

Both websites get the same free logo, the same 2 new social media pages and the same $59 Care Plan. The only thing that grows is how many ways customers can find you.

Many web designers charge for each page separately, and writing, photos and a logo usually cost extra. Here, they're included.

What surprises most owners

Going From 5 Pages to 10 Pages Adds Just $100

Here's what the extra $100 gets you:

  • 5 more pages5 more ways for customers to find you on Google
  • Only $20 a pageThat's $20 for each extra page
  • The same $59 Care PlanYour monthly price never goes up with size
  • The same free extrasFree logo and 2 new social pages

Either way, your website is ready in 7 days once I have what I need from you.

Not sure which one fits?

Ask Yourself 3 Quick Questions

Tap your answers and I’ll show you the website that fits your business best. It works whether you're starting fresh or replacing an old site.

1How many different services do you offer?

Each service is something different people search for on Google, so each one works best with its own page.

2Do you serve more than one town or city?

People often add their town to a search, like "dog groomer in Chicago." A page for each area helps you show up in each one.

3Where do you want new customers to come from?

A single page works well as a link to share. Being found by people searching on Google takes a few more pages.

Answer all 3 to see your recommendation.

Still not sure? Starting at $99 is completely okay, and you can always grow later. Compare both websites ↓

A Friendly Look at What’s Not Included

We believe a low price should stay low, so we like to be open about what’s included and what isn’t. To keep your one-time flat fee of $99 or $199 simple and affordable, the services below are not part of it. If you’d like any of them, just ask and I’ll give you a custom price. Those prices are kept cost-effective, in the same spirit as the affordable price of building your website, so you’ll never be surprised later.

  • Complex custom web applicationsCustom-built software, member portals and logins are a bigger project than a business website.
  • Large online stores (100+ products)A small shop is easy to talk through. A very large catalog needs custom pricing.
  • Advanced custom integrationsConnecting your website to outside software, booking systems or databases.
  • Custom photo and video shootsWe provide beautiful photos for every page of your website. If you’d love something truly one of a kind, like custom photography or video made just for your business, we’re happy to create it for you at a custom price.
  • Ongoing social media managementWe create your 2 pages for free. Posting for you every week is a separate service.
  • Ongoing content writingEvery page of your website is written for you. Regular blog posts are a separate service, and only if you request a blog page.
  • SEO and adsOptional, $199 a month each, for when you want more customers sooner. Ad budgets are paid straight to Google or Facebook.
  • Your domain nameYou buy and own your web address, usually for about $10 to $20 a year. I help you connect it.

Questions? We Have Answers.

How do we get started?

Call or fill out the form, and I’ll call you within 30 minutes. Tell me about your business, and I’ll recommend 5 or 10 pages in plain English. When you’re ready, you pay the one-time flat fee, send me what I need (like your logo, wording and photos if you’re providing them), and your 7 days begin. No contracts, and you own your domain.

I’m just starting my business, or I don't have a website. Is that okay?

Absolutely. Many of our clients are opening their doors for the first time or have never had a website. We build your whole website from scratch, including the writing and photos, and guide you through every step in plain English. You don't need reviews, a long history or any website know-how to get started.

I've been in business a while and already have a website. Can you help?

Yes! Many of our clients come to us with an established business and a website that isn't bringing in customers. We can give it a fresh start with a new design, fresh writing and the right setup for Google. Tell me what you have, and I’ll recommend the best next step.

I’m not good with computers. Is that a problem?

Not at all. You don't need to know anything about websites or computers. I handle the design, the writing, the photos and the technical setup. You just tell me about your business, and I take it from there.

What counts as a page?

A page is one section of your website that people can visit, like your Home page, About Us, Services, Photo Gallery or Contact page. Each page gives Google another way to find you.

How fast will my website be ready?

Fast. Your 7 days begin once I have everything I need from you, like your logo, wording and photos if you’re providing them. Want me to create those? Then we start right away. From there, your website is fully designed by day 7, and I stand behind that with my money: if I’m late, your website package money comes right back to you.

What does the $59 a month cover, and is there a contract?

Your website is a one-time flat fee, $99 for 5 pages or $199 for 10 pages. The $59-a-month Website Care Plan keeps it online and up to date: hosting, fast loading, the security lock (SSL), upkeep, and monthly edits like new images, updated wording or anything else you request, plus help with your web address. Many web designers charge a few hundred dollars for a single edit, so having them covered is a big part of the value. There is no contract, so you can cancel anytime. Our marketing services, like SEO, Google Ads and Facebook and Instagram ads, are separate, optional, and $199 a month each.

What comes free with my website?

Both the 5-page and 10-page websites include a free logo (you pick your favorite from 3 designs), 2 brand-new business social media pages that we create for you, like Facebook and Instagram, and free professional writing and photos.

Who owns my domain name?

You do. You buy your own web address (called a domain) from a registrar, usually for about $10 to $20 a year, so it always belongs to you. I help you pick one and connect it to your new website. Already have a domain? I’ll connect that one.

What isn't included in the price?

To keep pricing simple and affordable, a few things are not included, but I’m happy to talk about custom pricing for them: complex custom web applications, large online stores (100+ products), advanced custom integrations, custom photo and video shoots, ongoing social media management, ongoing content writing, and SEO and ads (those are $199 a month each). Your domain name is bought by you, and ad budgets are paid directly to Google or Facebook.

What happens if I cancel?

You can cancel anytime, with no contract and no cancellation fee. Your Care Plan ends at the end of the month you've paid for. You keep your domain, your logo and your social media pages, and on request I’ll send you your website's files so you can host them elsewhere.

What is SEO?

SEO stands for search engine optimization. A search engine, like Google or Bing, is where people type what they need and get a list of businesses. SEO is everything done to help your business show up near the top of that list, like setting up your Google Maps listing, getting listed on trusted websites like Yelp and the BBB (called local citations) and making sure your website pages include the same words your customers type. Better SEO means more people find you instead of your competitors.

Do you work with businesses outside my area?

Yes. I build websites for businesses all across the country, and everything is handled by phone, text and email.

How do I pay?

You have two easy options. You can click Buy Now to pay the one-time flat fee safely online through Square, a trusted payment company, using any credit or debit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Or, if you'd rather talk first, call or text me at 813-556-5611. I’ll answer your questions, help you pick 5 or 10 pages, and send you a secure payment link by text or email whenever you're ready. No pressure either way.
